Shamanic Healing

I’m a sensitive-born, with the predisposition to experience the subtle and unseen nuances of reality.  I have listened within and followed my own way, guided by my Higher self and the Light Beings, who I called “the people upstairs” as a child. My work has been refined through my inner journeys, life experienced and initiations through near death experiences.  My path has been guided by the spirits of nature and creature spirits such as birds and animals. After many years of training with my spiritual teachers, I enrolled with the Institute of Shamanic Studies in my early thirties.  Here I worked with drums, crystals, active dreaming, extraction, soul retrieval, psychopomp and past and parallel lives. As a contemporary Shaman, my primary task is to mediate between the visible and invisible worlds. By bridging ancient cross-cultural healing methods into a modern form I am better able to address the needs of our time. Heralding from English, Scottish, Danish, French and NZ ancestry, my grandfather admittedly would not have called himself a shaman.  Nevertheless, he had a finely developed ability with nature and to forecast weather from a deep intuitive astuteness.  Locals in the area would often rely on his word rather than the newspaper for their forecasts!   Similarly, as a child I perceived that the natural elements and animals feel our energy our essence as we do theirs.  If we are receptive, we can experience a dialogue. An element of Shamanism central to my process is that of the Soul Journey; in which spirit animals, allies and spirit teachers are called forth, to develop connection with the client and to tap into their collective intuitive power, either manifesting symbolically or in some cases literal terms.  Shamanic healing addresses wounding on the energetic, spiritual aspects of illness.  It is common for clients to describe a disconnect and an emptiness; a numbing, or not wanting to be here.  They often state that they feel as though they are watching life from a distance.  Life events such as abusive relationships, sexual abuse, operations, accidents and illness contribute to fragmentation within the soul.  In many cases this trauma has not yet been fully processed and as a result can cause problems throughout one’s life.  To help the process, I collaborate with the client to call back and recover the fragmented aspects.
